Providence University College Information Session

Are you interested in studying in a small (we have 252 students in total), rural (we are located in Otterburne, which is 40 minutes from Winnipeg, 25 minutes from Steinbach) Christian post-secondary institution, where you are known by name and you can be challenged and learn new perspectives? Join us as we talk about why consider Providence for your university education, get a glimpse of our campus, what student supports are available, what scholarships are available (and how to save beyond your first year), explore our programs, athletics, and the application process! You will have the opportunity to ask questions as well. If you are considering any of these programs, we hope you will be able to join us: Aviation, Business Administration, Communications & Media, General Biology, Health Sciences, Humanities, Psychology, Social Science, Sociology, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).Registration is required. Manitoba Career Prospects will be hosting a VIRTUAL MANITOBA CAREER FAIR on January 20, 2021. The keynote speaker with be Ubisoft. So far there are 47 exhibitors in place. Coming Together: Career & Post-Secondary Planning (Winnipeg PSE panel)

This virtual event is open to everyone and occurs on Thu, Nov 26, 2020 at 4:30pm to 5:30pm

Are you interested in exploring post-secondary options?  Unsure about whether to attend college or university?  Not sure which programs to consider or choose?  Attend this panel session to learn about useful career planning resources and important post-secondary considerations. Ask questions and connect with representatives from:

  • Université de Saint-Boniface,
  • The University of Winnipeg.

THE SENATE PAGE PROGRAM

The Senate is now recruiting pages for the academic year starting in September 2021!

Senate pages are responsible for providing a range of services to ensure the Upper Chamber and its committees operate effectively.

You are eligible to apply to the Senate Page Program if you’re:  

• a full-time student pursuing your first undergraduate degree, or a high school student starting undergraduate studies next year,

• willing to live in Ottawa or Gatineau for the duration of your contract while pursuing your studies at one of the region’s four universities,

• able to communicate in both official languages,

• a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with no previous experience as a page on Parliament Hill.

UManitoba BMO Scholarship Deadline

The December 1, 2020 deadline for applications for the BMO Financial group Leader of Tomorrow and Indigenous Leader of Tomorrow Entrance Scholarships valued at $16, 000 is quickly approaching. Scholarship applicants are also required to apply for admission to the University of Manitoba by this same date (Dec. 1, 2020).

2021 Special Entrance Scholarship

  • Available for Grade 12 students.
  • Automatically consideration if you apply by March 1, 2021.
  • Eligibility: minimum of 85% Grade 12 award average (best 40s English, best 40s Math, one other 40s or 42s course) & must enroll in min. 12 credit hours for the fall.
  • Have not received an award valued at more than $5,000 from another source.

University of Winnipeg Open House

UWinnipeg's Open House 2020 will be held on Wednesday, February 19.

Day Session: 9:00am – 1:00pm

Evening Session: 5:30pm – 8:00pm

Location: Dr. David F. Anderson Gymnasium

Duckworth Centre (400 Spence St.)

The University of Winnipeg campus

At Open House you'll meet professors and current students at the Information Fair in Duckworth Centre. Attend Faculty Introductions and learn more about your areas of interest.

Campus tours are also available throughout the day, either of the main campus or for some of the other campus buildings. You can check out the state-of-the-art labs in the Science Complex, or visit the Axworthy Health and RecPlex to see the indoor soccer field and the other athletic facilities available.

Application Centre: At Open House you can apply for admission with the help of an Admissions Officer. Be sure to bring your MET number* along with a list of all of your grade 12 courses. The $100 application fee can be paid onsite either by cash, cheque, debit or credit card.

There are also many great prizes to be won, including the chance to win a $5,000 tuition credit just by filling out one of our UWinnipeg Contact Cards. There will also be giveaways and prizes handed out all day long, so you just might be a winner – if you attend Open House 2020!
