TADD LEADING CHANGE SCHOLARSHIP/BURSARY

 TADD Manitoba is please to once again be offering two, $500 Leading Change Scholarship/Bursary to deserving Manitoba high schools students. These students must have shown great interest in investing in their community, to inspire positive change. 
The scholarship/bursary is open to all students within Manitoba. However, preference will be given to those students who are actively involved in their TADD school groups/committees.

Who can Apply?

  • Graduating Manitoba high school students currently enrolled in their final year and who will be enrolled full-time in a degree or diploma program at a recognized publicly funded Canadian university or college in the Fall 2023 academic term. 
  • Must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with a minimum 70% average in their last completed year of study.
  • Actively involved in their community and inspiring change at the local level. 
  • Have engaged in actions, raised awareness for a cause directed either to their school community, their local community or their provincial community.
  • A letter of reference from a member of the community who can attest to the leadership and advocacy that has been demonstrated by the student.

RETSD SCHOOL BOARD MEDAL AWARD

School Board Medal Award

The CMMC scholarship committee is looking for graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding

achievements throughout their time as a student in RETSD.

This divisional award is based on 5 criteria: 

1. Academic Excellence: Must have an academic average of 85% or higher, based on first semester final marks and second semester interim marks.  

2. Leadership: Must have demonstrated leadership in the school and community. 

3. Contribution to CMMC: Must have contributed to the school community throughout their time at CMMC.

4. Contribution to the community: Must have volunteered or given back to the community in a meaningful way.

5. Relationship with CMMC staff: Must have demonstrated a positive relationship with the staff at CMMC.

QUINTAINE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship is up to $5000.00

Applicant must:

  • Attend a Farrier College within one year of high school graduation
  • Be a graduate of a Manitoba High School

To Apply:

  • Send a one page essay to quintaine.scholarship@gmail.com Which includes, your contact information, why you want to take this program, previous equine experience, future plans, etc.
  • Include a reference from an equine person who has encouraged you

Scholarship recipients will be notified and scholarship $$ will be paid directly to the College on proof of acceptance to the program, or, to the student on submission of proof of payment to the college.

THE BRANDON WALLI "PHONES DOWN, EYES UP" MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Brandon Walli "Phones Down, Eyes Up" Memorial Scholarship is open to Canadian students graduating secondary school in 2023 who are pursuing a post-secondary education in the arts, creative arts or music. Geotab is proudly hosting this scholarship in Brandon Walli's name for students who show the same love of arts and music that Brandon possessed. Brandon Walli tragically lost his life at the age of 23 while crossing the road in 2016.

AMOUNT: $2,500 (X3)
DEADLINE: APRIL 28TH 2023

 Who should apply:

  • High school students graduating in 2023 who are focusing on Arts, Creative Arts, or Music in their post-secondary school studies.
  • We are looking for students who also have community and volunteer experience.
  • Grades: 65 - 100%

CANADIAN HEARING SERVICES NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) proudly offers scholarships to Deaf and hard of hearing students to help break down financial barriers to participation and support the extra costs associated with accommodations in a higher learning environment.

What They're Looking For

  • 💪Disabilities: Hearing Loss and Deafness
  • 🎂Age: 17 - 50+
  • 🌎Citizenship: Canadian or Permanent Resident (Canada)

Scholarships of $3,000 a year for full-time students and $1,000 a year for part-time students.  
DEADLINE: May 26th 2023

Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students, including mature students attending accredited post-secondary institutions inside or outside of Canada. Students who receive funding remain eligible for the same level of funding for up to four years.

ODD FELLOWS & REBEKAHS OF MANITOBA EDUCATION BURSARY

The Order of ODD FELLOWS & REBEKAHS of Manitoba are sponsoring a $1,000 bursary to a graduating student who plans to attend a college or university in the fall. To be eligible you must demonstrated financial need, have good marks and are involved in your school or community.

THE SENATOR GERRY & MARGARET ST. GERMAIN BURSARY

The Senator Gerry & Margaret St. Germain Bursary is available to grade 12 Red River Métis students across Manitoba who excel in Math/or Science and are involved in the Red River Métis Community. If you are planning a post-secondary education in Manitoba, you may quality for the bursary which is administered through the Louis Riel Institute.

MANITOBA MÉTIS FEDERATION VICKAR COMMUNITY CHEVROLET AWARD

The Vickar Community Chevrolet Award is available to Red River Métis students enrolled at Red River College Polytechnic and registered in one of the prerequisite programs:

  • Automotive Technician (Certificate)
  • Automotive Technician (Diploma)
  • Collision Repair & Refinishing
  • Introduction to Trades (Automotive)
  • Business Administration
  • Commerce, Industry Sales & Marketing

THE RED RIVER MÉTIS & CANTOR'S FAMILY AWARD

The Red River Métis & Cantor's Family Award is available to Red River Métis students who are attending a post-secondary institution in Manitoba. The student must be enrolled in butcher/abattoir, culinary arts, or any agricultural programs which focus on the study of livestock and processes used for the purpose of feeding people or a related field in which you can express the connection to the butcher/abattoir field.

MARY GUILBAULT MÉTIS BURSARY

This Bursary is available to Red River Métis students across Manitoba who excel in academics and the community and who show financial need. Post-secondary students who have been a resident of Manitoba for the last 12 months may qualify for the Mary Guilbault Métis Bursary, administered through the Louis Riel Institute.

THE LOUIS RIEL BURSARY

The MMF continues to support post-secondary students through the Louis Riel Bursary. This Bursary is available to Red River Métis students at several post-secondary institutions across Manitoba and are administered through the Louis Riel Institute in partnership with the post-secondary institutions.

Qualified students are required to complete a 2-part application. One with LRI and one with the students' post-secondary institution. The Louis Riel Institute confirms an applicant's eligibility for the bursary through verification of Manitoba Métis Federation citizenship and the post-secondary institution determines the bursary recipients based on their individual assessment criteria.

  • Red River College: Sept.15th
  • Université de Saint-Boniface:Sept.15th
  • Assiniboine Community College: Oct.15th
  • University College of the North: Nov.8th
  • University of Manitoba: Oct.1st
