The Loran Award is renewable for up to four years, with a total value of $100,000, and includes:
An annual living stipend of $10,000
A tuition waiver of up to $10,000 annually from one of 25 partner universities
Personal mentorship from a Canadian leader
Experiential learning through summer work experiences in three different sectors with funding up to $14,000
Annual retreats and scholar gatherings
Lifelong membership in a community of values-driven individuals
120 finalist and provincial awards to promising candidates who are not selected as Loran Scholars will also be granted.

ELIGIBILITY:
The Loran Award supports promising young Canadians who show strength of character and a commitment to service in their communities, challenging them to fully realize their leadership potential.
Be entering university for the first time in September 2023.
Present a minimum cumulative average of 85%
Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.

The application is entirely online. You do not need to mail anything. Complete the application at Loran Scholars Foundation
You will need to request a reference from a teacher, community member, or someone else who is familiar with your activities. The reference may not be a family member or friend.
NOTE: The reference letter must be complete by the application deadline. It can only be completed after you have finished your section of the application. Make sure you give your reference writer ample time to complete their portion of the application before the deadline. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all elements of the application are submitted on time.
