UNITED WAY YOUTH LEADERS IN ACTION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: March 4, 2025 AWARD VALUE: $500 x 4 CRITERIA: 

  • Connection with a United Way Winnipeg donor-supported organization
  • Accepted to a full- or part-time post-secondary institution in Winnipeg
  • Demonstrate commitment to academic learning
  • Demonstrate leadership in the local community
  • Demonstrate genuine commitment to neighbourhood/community involvement
  • Priority will be given to those that demonstrate financial need

BURGER KING SCHOLARS PROGRAM

DEADLINE: December 16, 2024  AWARD VALUE: $1,000 - $60,000  CRITERIA: 

  • Be graduating from grade 12;  
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent; 
  • Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school or equivalent in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam or Canada. 
  • Demonstrates participation in community service and/or extra-curricular activities, work experience.
  • Financial need will be considered.

TD SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

 DEADLINE: November 13, 2024 AWARD VALUE: up to $70,000  CRITERIA: 

  • Have demonstrated community leadership and a genuine interest in making a positive difference in the community;
  • Are in their final year of high school;  
  • Have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year. 
  • Are Canadian citizens, have permanent resident status, or have protected person status under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

BMO FINANCIAL GROUP INDIGENOUS LEADER OF TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIP

 DEADLINE: December 1, 2024
AWARD VALUE: $16,000
CRITERIA: BMO Financial Group Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships will be offered to students who:

  • are Indigenous (Status, Non-Status, Métis, Inuit); 
  • have achieved a high school average of at least 90 per cent calculated on the basis of results in
    • English 30S or Français 30S
    • Mathematics 30S (either pre-calculus 30S or applied 30S only) 
    • the highest marks in three of Biology 30S, Chemistry 30S, Physics 30S, History 30F, Computer Science 30s, or a language at the 30S level other than those accepted for above; 
  • have demonstrated evidence of leadership qualities and future potential; 
  • have demonstrated evidence of a high level of communication skills; 
  • have a record of community involvement (e.g., school, local community city-wide, regional, national, international); 
  • have demonstrated evidence of special abilities other than those shown by academic results (e.g., artistic, athletic, or linguistic skills, literary accomplishments); 
  • have completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by the December 1 deadline, including payment of application fee.

Recipients will be required to present a minimum 90 per cent average based on those courses eligible for the University of Manitoba General Entrance Scholarships.

BMO FINANCIAL GROUP LEADER OF TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: December 1, 2024
AWARD VALUE: $16,000
CRITERIA:  BMO Financial Group Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships will be offered to students who:
