INFORMATION SECURITY UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: Open January 15, 2024 & closes February 29, 2024  AWARD VALUE $1,000 – $5,000  CRITERIA: 

  • Must be pursuing a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field in the fall of 2024; 
  • GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale); 
  • If you need to convert your GPA please visit https://applications.wes.org/igpa-calculator/ 
  • You do not currently need to be enrolled, however no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university. 

WOMEN’S CYBER SECURITY SCHOLARSHIPS

DEADLINE: February 29, 2024 
AWARD VALUE: $1,000 - $5,000 
CRITERIA:

SOCIETY OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP

 DEADLINE: Opens November 1,2023 & closes February 1, 2024  AWARD VALUE: Up to $20,000 CRITERIA: 

  • Must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States or Canada; 
  • Must have minimum of 2.0/4.0 GPA or higher; 
  • Must be on a path toward an associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree in manufacturing engineering, technology, or closely related field at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada. 


BURGER KING SCHOLARS PROGRAM

DEADLINE: December 15, 2023  AWARD VALUE: $1,000 - $50,000  CRITERIA: 

  • Be graduating from grade 12;  
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent; 
  • Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school or equivalent in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam or Canada. 
  • Demonstrates participation in community service and/or extra-curricular activities.

TD SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

DEADLINE: November 15, 2023  AWARD VALUE: up to $70,000  CRITERIA: 

  • Have demonstrated community leadership and a genuine interest in making a positive difference in the community;
  • Are in their final year of high school;  
  • Have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year.

BMO FINANCIAL GROUP INDIGENOUS LEADER OF TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: December 1, 2023
AWARD VALUE: $16,000
CRITERIA:
BMO Financial Group Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships will be offered to students who:

  • are Indigenous (Status, Non-Status, Métis, Inuit); 
  • have achieved a high school average of at least 90 per cent calculated on the basis of results in
    • English 30S or Français 30S
    • Mathematics 30S (either pre-calculus 30S or applied 30S only) 
    • the highest marks in three of Biology 30S, Chemistry 30S, Physics 30S, History 30F, Computer Science 30s, or a language at the 30S level other than those accepted for above; 
  • have demonstrated evidence of leadership qualities and future potential; 
  • have demonstrated evidence of a high level of communication skills; 
  • have a record of community involvement (e.g., school, local community city-wide, regional, national, international); 
  • have demonstrated evidence of special abilities other than those shown by academic results (e.g., artistic, athletic, or linguistic skills, literary accomplishments); 
  • have completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by the December 1 deadline, including payment of application fee.

Recipients will be required to present a minimum 90 per cent average based on those courses eligible for the University of Manitoba General Entrance Scholarships.

2024 RE/MAX QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS NOW OPEN

Deadline: March 13th, 2024
Award Amount: $1,000
Who can apply? Must be a Grade 12 student attending high school in Canada.
What will I have to do? Write and submit a 1,250-word essay based on one of the three key themes: charitable community contribution, the vision for a "brighter future," and ensuring future generations have a safe, secure, and affordable place to call "home."

LORAN AWARD


Deadline: October 11th, 2023
Award Amount: The Loran Award is valued at more than $100,000 over four years of university         undergraduate studies.
Who can apply? Students are selected on the basis of strength of character, commitment to                 service, and the potential for leadership. Loran Scholars are young people who are humble,         inquisitive, and thoughtful; who shun the status quo and pursue unique paths; who collaborate      and bring others along; and who will act in the face of injustices to build a better future for all.
What will I have to do? If interested, you are encouraged to register for one of the webinars             where you can learn more about the Loran Award and hear from Loran alumni firsthand.

CAMBRIAN CREDIT UNIONS LEARRNING FOR LIFE SCHOLARSHIP

Each year, Cambrian awards scholarships to select students through Learning for Life to support continuing education. This year, Cambrian will be providing five awards to support students who are pursuing post-secondary education in the fall and exemplify leadership in one of the following five areas: 

  • Arts & Culture,
  • Community Care, 
  • Education, 
  • Health & Wellness, 
  • Member Award.

The recipient of the Member scholarship will receive $2,500, and the recipients of the other 4 scholarships will receive $1,000 each.

Students are invited to apply for the Learning for Life Award until May 31, 2023 at www.cambrian.mb.ca. Students may submit an application for up to two of the five categories and must demonstrate how they meet the qualifying criteria for each specific area.

2023 MAYOR'S SCHOLARSHIP FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

Mayor Scott Gillingham invites you to apply for the Mayor’s Scholarship for Community Leadership, created to award scholarships to recognize the achievements of Winnipeg's young leaders. 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
o High school graduates with a minimum overall grade average of 70%                             
o Those entering their first year in post-secondary education on a full-time basis at a recognized college or university in the City of Winnipeg
o Those who have made a significant contribution to Winnipeg and demonstrated outstanding community leadership

PREMIER'S HEALTHY LIVING SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOUTH

The Premier's Healthy Living Scholarship for Youth recognizes the achievements for young Manitobans who are positive role models for other children and youth in promoting healthy lifestyles. 

Up to 10 of the most outstanding applicants from across Manitoba will be selected to receive a $1000 scholarship. DEADLINE: AUGUST 1, 2023
