Manitoba Hydro Awards

Manitoba Hydro supports the youth of Manitoba in pursuit of academic excellence.  Within our Educational Funding Program are specific awards available to Indigenous Students in Grades 10 - 12. Students will be required to include a cover letter and resume and final transcript with their application.  Please share this with appropriate contacts.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following awards:  

Northern Student Award (3 awards of $300)

Eligibility:  Open to all Indigenous students in Junior High or High School living north of the 53rd parallel.  Students are nominated by a teacher as an outstanding student based on academic performance, personal achievements and other accomplishments.

 

 

Physics Award (1 award of $200)

(Deadline July 15th)

 

Eligibility:  Open to Indigenous students from Fox Lake, Nelson House, Split Lake, War Lake and York Factory communities enrolled in either Physics 30S or 40S.

 

 

Trio Award

(Deadline July 15th)

 

Eligibility: 

  • Indigenous students in Grade 10 taking 20S Math, 20S English & 20F Science (1 award of $200)
  • Indigenous students in Grade 11 taking 30S Math, 30S English & 30S Physics (1 award of $300)
  • Indigenous students in Grade 12 taking 40S Math, 40S English & 40S Physics (1 award of $500)

To be considered, students must include all required documentation depending on the award they are applying or being nominated for.  This may include a resume and cover letter, their final transcript and proof of Indigenous ancestry.
