The MMF continues to support post-secondary students through the Louis Riel Bursary. This Bursary is available to Red River Métis students at several post-secondary institutions across Manitoba and are administered through the Louis Riel Institute in partnership with the post-secondary institutions.
Qualified students are required to complete a 2-part application. One with LRI and one with the students' post-secondary institution. The Louis Riel Institute confirms an applicant's eligibility for the bursary through verification of Manitoba Métis Federation citizenship and the post-secondary institution determines the bursary recipients based on their individual assessment criteria.

- Brandon University: June 1st
- Red River College: Sept.15th
- Université de Saint-Boniface:Sept.15th
- Assiniboine Community College: Oct.15th
- University College of the North: Nov.8th
- University of Manitoba: Oct.1st
- University of Winnipeg: Oct.1st
