  • Will have completed high school level education by Fall 2024.
  • Be accepted to a post-secondary program at an eligible institution in Canada. 
  • Must demonstrate strong character traits such as resiliency, community-mindedness, and commitment to excellence.
  • Be first-generation post-secondary education students (those whose parents did not attend post-secondary education).

MARYMOUND STUDENT BURSARY PROGRAM

SHANNEN'S DREAM SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: March 31, 2024

AWARD VALUE: 4 x $10,000

CRITERIA: The scholarship is open to First Nations youth who meet the following eligibility criteria:         

  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program (university, college or trade school) at a Canadian institution with a duration of no less than 13 weeks.
  • Consideration criteria: 1) the recipient contributes to their First Nations community (urban or rural) and, 2) demonstrates academic or extra-curricular accomplishments at school, such as taking part in clubs or sports teams. 
  • "Pay-it-forward" requirement: The recipient agrees to make a fair and measurable contribution to Shannen's Dream or related First Nations initiative as a condition of the award. The recipient must agree to provide the scholarship committee with details of their contribution within one year of receiving the award.
  • Financial need will be considered.

PEAK OF THE MARKET BURSARY

 DEADLINE: April 15, 2024

AWARD VALUE: $2,000

CRITERIA:         

  • Be accepted to enter a full-time studies in an agriculture and/or food science bachelor or diploma programs at an accredited Western Canadian university or accredited college (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia).
  • Use the bursary within the academic year it is awarded.
  • Provide all of the information and documentation as outlined in the application process.
  • Preference will be given to applicants that are pursuing studies that are applicable to the commercial potato and vegetable industries in Western Canada.
  • Self-identify financial need.

At CMU, February is all about finances! We're easing the financial burden for students by waiving the $80 application fee all month. And our scholarship application is now open and is running until February 28. Students can apply through their application portal. Please note: you must have conditional or final admission to CMU to be eligible.Admitted students can apply for the following awards

iNDSPIRE TED ROGERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND for INDIGENOUS STUDENTS

DEADLINE: March 1, 2024

AWARD VALUE: Renewable award of $2,500 per year for a maximum of four years

CRITERIA:          The Ted Rogers Scholarship is for Canadian Indigenous students entering their first year of a post-secondary program in the fall of 2023

  • There is one application for all of Indspire's bursaries, scholarships and awards, barring a few exceptions. To be eligible for a Building Brighter Futures financial awards applicants must met the following criteria:
    • Be an Indigenous person
    • Be enrolled in an accredited education program; a professional development program; a continuing education program; a traditional knowledge program or arts training
    • Can not be a member of the staff, board or jury at the time of applying for funding support

  • Working as a individual to lead their service work. The Barron Prize does not accept applications from large groups of young people

AWARD VALUE: 20 scholarships of up to $10,000 each CRITERIA:         

  • Identify as Indigenous with Status, Indigenous with Non-Status, Inuit or Métis
  • Be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
  • Entering post-secondary studies at an eligible post-secondary institution in the 2025-2026 academic year
  • Are not an RBC employee or a dependent of an RBC employee
